School Houses

A new addition to life at Stanton-in-Peak is the creation of our school house system. Every child is given one of four houses to support. The aim of our house system is to create community spirit and give the children an opportunity to contribute to something bigger that involves children from all year groups. Siblings are placed in the same house.
Houses and House Captains
Our houses are Mountain, River, Ocean and Forest. Each house is represented by their House Captains (two Year Sixes, elected by their peers). The House Captains are responsible for leading their house in competitions and events, and representing the school in the community.
Earning House Points
House points are awarded for model behaviour, effort in learning and other good deeds. Pupils also participate and compete in competitions, such as sports day and events for house points. Pupils that win star of the week certificates or other commendations can also earn house points for their house.
