Curriculum
Our Curriculum
At Peak Tor Federation we offer a broad and balanced curriculum with strong cross curricular links. Our curriculum builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of our pupils as they move through the school and at least fulfils the statutory requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the needs of all our pupils; their personal development is valued as highly as their academic progress. As a result our pupils are well equipped for the next stage in their education and make a positive contribution to our school, their local communities and the wider world.
ICT is taught discretely and is an important part of all of our lessons.
Whilst RE is not part of the National Curriculum, there is a statutory requirement, under the 1988 Education Reform Act, that it should form part of the school’s curriculum. School uses the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus and the Derby Diocesan Document. Parents have a right to withdraw their child from these lessons if they wish. Please feel free to discuss this with the Headteacher. You can email me at a.wyer@peaktorfederation.co.uk
Please refer to our Curriculum and Teaching and Learning policies to find out more about our curriculum which can be found on each subject page.
If anyone has any questions, comments or would like any more information, please contact Mrs Wyer via email a.wyer@peaktorfederation.co.uk or phone 01629 636 30. Alternatively you can speak to any member of staff who will be happy to provide you with more information abut our curriculum.
